per trick flow's instructions the recommend the felpro 1022 and 1023 head gaskets for the big bore engine. left and right hand. Ive got both sides. my question is now that i have the 4.125 bore im leaving compression on the table with the scalloped fire rings. a 9.088 cc volume. im wanting to get a little more compression in this this as ive got the trick flow dished pistons with the 22 cc dish. why cant i use the cometic C5482-30's? they are a true round bore at 4.125 with no scallops and a 6.57cc volume at .030 compressed thickness. also what about the felpro 1022-1023 makes the right and left only unlike other gasket that can go right or left side. i cant tell them apart. thanks for the input guys.

You can use practically any SBF/SVO head gasket that you want. The SVO gaskets have scalloped bores to clear the valve reliefs on some blocks.

So with a 4.125 bore, how many cubes will your engine be? I have the T/F 225cc heads too. Mine have the 60cc chambers. My funds did not allow a stroker build so mine are on a 359C. I wish I could have built a 393 or 408

Nova, this a dart 427 build. i basically copied the 427 build for the tf 225 heads on the TF website. same cam, dished pistons ect, instead of the TF intake i have a track boss intake. Also putting in solid rollers instead of the hydros, cam is a billet core.Prob set lash at .002 cold. the head gaskets that TF call for have a lot of unnecessary volume. going with the cometics to tighten up the quench and get closer to 11.1 compression. im hoping to run on pump 93. ive ran e85 but its hell on carbs that sit for a period.

Cool man!!! I always wondered how that catalogue 427 would do on another dyno. I am looking at that catalogue now and it says with the TF hydro cam and their intake it made 605hp@6300 and 550tq@4900. Their numbers on that graft say it was ran with 3" exhaust and Flowmasters too.

I'm not sure what head gaskets my engine builder put on mine. Mine with Eagle 5.78" rods and SRP flat tops with 3cc reliefs is 11.1 compression. Mine runs much better with 110 than with 93 pump trash. Shoot, the pump trash gas will do the same as E85 but at a slower rate. I made the mistake of not running my carb dry when I put 93 in it and I let it sit for months. It ate my rear needle n seat o-rings- gas just pouring down my cylinders. Coincidental - maybe but either way I had to rebuild the carb because of it.
