Hey coupe3w,

Thanks for that but unfortunately I'm not Stateside, I'm in New Zealand.
While I've never purchased the vr1 10w/30 before I'm sure I've seen it on the shelves but not anymore, it appears the 10w/40 may have replaced it as the 10w/30 isn't even mentioned on the Valvoline NZ website.
I'll ask the shop to check into it for me though but may have to try the 10w/40 version and see how it goes.

You have to watch about the 40 weight oils. Some of them are too thick to work with the Morel lifters. You want something with a kinematic viscosity of 14.5 cSt or less at 100°C.

I do know the Valvoline 10W-30 VR1 non-synthetic oil works very well with these lifters. I have not tried their 10W-40 oil.
