Are Oliver rods better than they used to be? I know a lot of people who had them fail about 10 years ago right in the beam with both the big end and the small end still in perfect condition.

I don't know if it was a materials or a design problem that they were having but all of the ones that I can think of that failed did so rather quickly no more than maybe 75 passes in a bracket dragster. They all failed in the beam.

I think some of that bad rap was partially because of a bad business relationship between two partners at Oliver. From my understanding it was a messy departures and lots of bad blood

The season ends today there. He's had a season full of 2nd and 3rd place runs while chasing clutch problems the entire time.

He's sending it back for a freshen up and then he'll get serious about chasing points next year.

I thought I had put up pictures and results in this thread, but I guess I hadn't.

It made 1206 hp @ 8200 and about 830 lb-ft of torque if I remember correctly.

Ahhh it's over in a guess the hp thread.
That is a sweet looking power plant for sure! Great video of it in action too, sounds wicked at sustained full noise!!
