FWIW - the last motor I lost several years ago split 5 (yes - 5) cylinders. However, it never overheated or milked the oil, it just polluted the water with oil scum. Ran great, never lost one MPH on the track.

In this instance I seem to have rapid over heat or at least fairly quick pressure build up in the system with a 16 lb cap, oil is clean and water looks normal with no oil scum.

PS - AFD Dave says he's never had to go colder on a plug than the BCP7s. "I find it extremely unusual for it to need a plug that cold"

The last time my 377 broke it had slowed down a touch, but it turned out that was from the springs being shot and not the fact it had a broken main web and four cracked cylinders :o

16 lb cap? I think mine is a 26. LOL

That groove doesnt look bad enough in that pic to cause the plug to look like that. I've run some blocks out of necessity that were pretty scarred up and the plugs looked pretty normal when they came out.

Ordered some gaskets today, I'll strip it down on the car to get a look. Quicker that way. If it needs more work then it can come out. I have those old Cometics but I never got them to seal.
