Ordered a custom pan from Kevco, thanks to Brent for the contact information. Should have a pan in 3 weeks or so. No hurry, obviously.

Block is on the way - thanks Brent!!! Brent sent a video of the test cam in the block - turns with his fingers. Nice, very nice.

Word up for Jegs - called and cancelled the Milodon pan order from 12/2020. I asked - willing to eat the $85 cost - if it might be possible to return the pickup, since I never got a pan and it was kinda useless to me. The answer was Yes and not just Yes but they send a FedEx prepay and won't tag me with any restocking charge. That pretty much made my day. What made my wife's day was that she gets $485 back on the CC from the pan cancel, and later will get a bit more.

Me want TIG welder now.

Its always nice when companies do stuff like that.
Back in 2012 I was getting parts together for my engine in car now. I ordered those Hooker headers at that time. So when I finally put the engine in, nope headers would not fit with the raised ports on my T/F heads. Called Summit. She said let me send you anther set (same headers) just to make sure there was not a manufacture defect. Sent them to me no charge to buy them or shipping. Headers still didn't fit. Talked to same lady. I found the Patriots I have in car now. She sent them to me no charge for headers and no shipping. They fit perfect. She then sent me 2 UPS return labels to return both sets of Hookers - no charge. The Patriots were like $20 more and she said since I had such a hard time they gave to me for price of Hookers. Talk about being a happy camper. I thought for sure my first phone call was gonna be the run-a-round of it's been a year and restock fees etc... Nope, none of that.

Years ago I ordered from Jegs twice - don't remember what but I do remember both times they were a week late getting to my house. Never ordered from them again. Knock on wood, I have never had a problem with Summit.

I've had good luck with both of the big distributors, and bad luck with both. One will tick me off so I will order from the other for a couple of years until something goes sideways, then I order from the other one until something goes sideways, then switch back. Right now, I am ordering from Summit.

Have a friend that works for Summit. He manages promotions at various venues like races, SEMA and such. I send him an email when I make a big buy, reminding him how much he should love me for helping out his 401K.

lmao
I need a friend at Summit :D
I wonder if the floor employees even get any discounts. One thing 2 different Summit employees told me was if they do not sell everything on the scratch n dent isle within a certain time they throw stuff away. Im like - anyone who does that is dumb. Last time I went to Summit (be for Christmas) the S&D section was full. I just so happened to look on middle shelf and what did I see - this beauty. Never used. It was the wall demo only 2 intake bolt surfaces had slight markings on them. Got that for stepdads 347. Also picked up that Hurst shifter cause you know these have doubled in last 10 years. I just cant imagine throwing this stuff away but thats what they said.

Good score! I need to get over to Arlington just to nose around. Thinking about going by Xtreme this Sunday for a day trip just to check the place out. No, I don't get any kick back from my bud LOL. The Pro Shop account is best I get, and I would have to thank Jegs for that - Hah!

About 10 years back: Jegs set me up with their racer discount program, just from my asking and my purchase history. Told my friend and he said to check out the Summit Pro Shop. So I called and the rep said "That's only for racers 9.90 and faster." I said "Well bummer, I'm just a competitive bracket racer. Jeg's set me up with their program, I thought Summit might also have something. Oh well." Summit Guy: "You have a Jegs account? Ah, hold on just a minute...." And I got my account.

Lookie what showed up yesterday from our good friend and best machinist guy Brent

What - I gotta put in the freeze plugs? Not sure what I'm paying this guy for.

I wish we had a Summit close by here. I would make it a weekly stop just to check out the S&D aisle.

I got in to the Summit discount program around the same time I got in to the Jeg's discount program. I had a Hot Rod/Super Street "license", and both were happy with that. I've had both so long I cant honestly remember when I got them.

The Beefy Tostada - punched in the cam plug and the two rear cup plugs so I could get it up on the stand. Nice - should not have any issues with this block at my power level. Eventually have to decide on Old Ford Blue - or purple metalflake.

PURPLE!!!
Be different. I painted this last one old Ford blue, not because I like the color or am a traditionalist, but because it's what I had on the shelf. I personally think clevelands look great black, and the couple I have painted yellow looked really good too. But I didnt have enough of either of those, so blue it was this time.
