Hello All,
First post, I am in the middle of a 400m build that is going south. A multitude of parts availability issues keeps pushing me farther from an optimal build.
400m,, 4" stroke,, 4.040 bore. Tim Myers 13cc stepped piston. 62cc TF heads.
My issue is my compression is little high for a mild comp 224@.050 cam. I am at ~11-1 stat,, 8.9 dynamic comp now and with the small cam.
I run a lot of compression in other builds (SBC/AMC) and not really and issue with flat tops but the TM pistons are stepped .080 and i still have ~.120" quench on the machined surface on the exhaust side of the spark plug. I am using a .060 MLS already as the piston is out of the block.
Anyway, Just getting uglier by the minute. My thought is removing material on the exhaust side of the spark plug to gain a few more CC. SOrt of open it to an open chamber head.
I can not find any details of the 72cc shape,, Called TF and they have no info,,called total engine airflow (affiliated with TF) and they never answer and will not call back.
Anyone here done some massaging of the cleveland TF head? I hate to jack it up. I do have other pistons on order but they may still be months away.
Thanks in advance chris
