That's not a lot of duration for a 408 with factory heads. I wouldn't expect it to pull much higher at all. In addition, the duration split is not correct for a factory head, and depending on the advertised durations, the rest of the specs could be counterproductive as well.

The cam was specd by a builder named Keith Craft for a 408 Iron Headed engine goibg into a street driven Cobta Kit Car with a 5 speed. The stroker was previously owned by Dustin Rinne a member here. I have the details on the flow numbers of the heads and the short block. Brent I left a meaasge on your business phone...I would like to order a cam. The car is currently more competitive than the Stock Stroke ported 2V heads with F260 and 4:86 gears and 7200 RPM's thru the traps with almost identical ET's. I agree the combo should be much quicker/faster. I currently have 1.53 60 ft times and was trying to decide change the cam....or try 4:11 gears and see if that helps use the strokers low end grunt

Hello my fellow Cat friend. Curious, did you actually degree your cam when you put it in or just trust the dot to dot? 4.11 gears might be beneficial depending where your engine makes its Tq. I have 4.11 gears and have 27x11.5 QTP tires. What stall converter do you have/stall? So far with my gutted 70 Cougar my best time is 11.56@117 with a 1.65 60ft. My 1/8 mile on this run was .12 and 1mph slower than previous 1/8 mile times or it should have gone 11.3-11.4 My problem is converter, its a 3000 and still need to put in my 5000. This is how my TQ curve looks from engine dyno. See, a 57 ftlb tq differance from where i launch now and at 5k. A 70lb difference from 3000 to 5600rpm. The way I understand it is your car will react to gearing depending on where your engine makes its peek power/tq/ the curve and weight of car. Did you engine dyno or wheel dyno yours? I will put it to you this way, me going from a 26x10.5 to a 27x11.5 tire my 60ft dropped .100 my 1/8 dropped .200/gained 2mph and quarter dropped over.100 and gained 2mph. My buddy that built my converter said usually if your ET drops when you put a taller tire on then usually you are over geared. Granted if all variables are equal and no tire spin from either tire set. I had no spin from either.

I see this all the time on Cleveland engines with hydro rollers.
What springs and retainers are you using?
