Went to the track yesterday for the first time this year with my 1970 mustang and my new 383 clevor and ran a best time of 11.23 at 125.1 mph. This is a street car that i take to the track once or twice a year for fun. I really think with a little tuning on the car and engine i can hit the 10s.

A tenth of a second takes about 20-25 hp as a rule of thumb. I doubt you could get another 40-50 hp out of the combination, but you may be able to tweak the chassis a bit to help out. Rear end gears can make a huge difference too....

That's a 10 second MPH, its already making the power. Gears converter and chassis setup is where you gotta look.
