This race was from July Of 2008. This was a regular DragWay 42 event back in July Of 2008. The Cougar was running a 385 Cleveland. This was the best Cleveland I have ever ran. It was an .040 block, wailed on that block with 7800 shifts, and going through the traps at 7900-8k. The engine was like 13.5, had 266/274 at .050, and .728/.728 lift. It was on a 109 degree sep angle, in at 105. The transmission is a C-4, I built myself. Full Roller, manual valve body. Still race with the same 23 year old 8 inch ATI Tree-Master convertor. Run 4.86 Gears, and Moser Center Section with 35 spline gun drilled axles. The car a best of 9.99, but would run 10,0s in good weather, and 10.20-30s in the heat. Car weighed 3295 back then. Block finally succumbed to failure, with crack down #5, all the way to the bulkhead. Wonder what I will find next.
