Hello,
I have a 406 Cleveland (4.020”) with 62cc closed chamber heads (compression 11.2:1), roller cam 227°/235° at 0.050”, ICL 109”, lobe sep. 112°, +4° advanced. I have to use our high prized European 102 octane fuel.
I tried 98 octane fuel (which I still would prefer to use) but then it will sometimes run-on after shutting down (changed ignition total advance to 34° (14° initial) so it would not ping in low gear uphill).
If I would retard the cam to 0° or futher to -4° would this eleminate the dieseling effect running 98 octane again?

Thanks for you help!

Ralf

Have you pulled your spark plugs to see what they look like? I have heard sometimes if your plugs are fouled it can cause run on. If they are fouled, then you might have to adjust your carburetor.
